What arrives on the truck: inside a steel panel package

Numbered panels bundled in wall-line order, track, screws and hardware, with drawings weeks ahead. What a steel SIP package includes and how delivery works.

The delivery is the moment a panel project stops being drawings. Knowing exactly what comes off the truck, and in what order, is most of what makes set-up day go smoothly.

The drawings come first

Easy-to-read, customised assembly drawings are furnished with every project, and they arrive several weeks before the panels. Each numbered panel on the drawing corresponds to the number written on the panel itself.

What is on the truck

• The panels, numbered to the drawings, with openings already made to your window and door schedule.
• Bundled in order. Every six panels are bundled according to the wall line-up of your project, so the crew works bundle by bundle.
• Track, screws and hardware. Everything the assembly needs ships with the package.

What is not on the truck is just as useful: no lumber pile, no insulation, no sheathing and no vapor barrier to stage, and no cut station.

Tight sites

Panels are close to ideal for sites with no storage area. A crew can set them straight off the trailer, which is why constrained urban lots are one of the strongest cases for panelizing the envelope. There is no dumpster of offcuts afterwards.

Difficult roads

When the last mile is tight, bundles can be broken down and shuttled in with a smaller truck or trailer. Tell us early and we plan the delivery around it.

How freight is priced

Freight is a quoted line item on the estimate, based on your address, and never a surprise at the end. We deliver to all six New England states from our base in Keene, New Hampshire, with panels manufactured in Radford, Virginia.

When it arrives

Shop drawings take two to four weeks after we have your plans, then manufacturing, then delivery, and we give you a firm date before you commit. Why that means ordering before the foundation is poured is covered in ordering season.
