What Carrabassett Valley projects ask of a wall.
Steep and often ledgy sites where the foundation is the expensive part, deep snow loads, exposure on the ridge, and access roads that argue with a full-size trailer in March.
Roof panels are load bearing, which lets truss spacing open to every four to six feet — roughly a two-thirds reduction in trusses to buy, lift and set. Because the roof assembly is continuous and thermally broken, there is very little escaping heat left to melt the underside of a snowpack, which is the actual cause of ice damming rather than its symptom.
What we typically supply in Carrabassett Valley: mountain homes and chalets, year-round camps, short-term rentals, lodges and heated outbuildings.
